4 inch screen itself is currently used by Apple in the iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. With a still size 4 inch screen, it seems Apple hopes to reach the market for consumers who do not like the widescreen phones.
Release of the iPhone with a large size does not mean Apple entirely leave their belief that an ideal mobile phone can be operated with one hand. To accommodate this need, Apple includes Reachability feature to help users operate their iPhone with one hand comfortably.
Apple rumored to release a new iPhone with 4-inch size in 2015
For the next year, Apple will probably be back to facilitate the wishes of the users who prefer a standard-sized iPhone, because the new news of the supply chain in China said that Apple likely will include a 4-inch iPhone in a row of product release in 2015.
Apple seems to assume that the market segment of female users is ideal for iPhone 4-inch, and they do not want to lose the user base just because the trend of large-sized smartphone.
If this news is accurate, then the question is whether the 4-inch iPhone, is a iPhone that is really new or just a new variant of the previous iPhone was released. because almost every year Apple just released the iPhone 3 variants were released during the last 3 years (for example, for this year is the iPhone 6 & 6 Plus, iPhone 5s and 5c and iPhone 5), then for the next year variant is the cheapest of iPhone 5s (with notes that the iPhone 5c is no longer manufactured).
